Clarifire Brings Local and Corporate Vendors to Promote Employee Wellness

Our office started buzzing around 11 a.m. as vendors began arriving for our 2017 Wellness Fair. Among them were UnitedHealthcare, Guardian Dental, Colonial Life, Superior Vision, North Shore Chiropractic, Hoola Monsters, The Fit Yard, Soho Juice, Orange Theory, Supergoop! and Elevate St. Pete.

This was a great opportunity for employees to come together to enjoy both local and corporate organizations for one purpose – the health and wellness of our company and community. According to The Bailey Group, wellness programs are an effective method of improving employee health and morale and decreasing health-related costs for employees in the midst of rising health care costs and increased health problems. We were pleased to learn our health insurance did not go up this year!

“I look forward to our Wellness Fair every year,” says Clarifire’s HR Coordinator, Linda Gay.

“This event gives us an opportunity to meet the providers of our many benefits to learn more about their services, so we can utilize all of the benefits Clarifire offers us.  When you add in the local vendors who offer fitness and nutrition information and opportunities, we have something to offer everyone.”

How did we choose our vendors? Many of them were local – and some related to employees. As a small, woman-owned business ourselves, we understand the importance of supporting the smaller organizations that help drive the culture, personality and wellbeing of our community.

Read on to learn about a few fun local vendors that came to our Wellness Fair.

North Shore Chiropractic

When a chiropractor visits the office and brings a massage chair, it’s something everyone can benefit from! A sign-up sheet circulated the office prior to the Wellness Fair, and we certainly kept the massage therapist busy.

Most of us sit at desks all day which can really take a toll on your body and posture. Visiting your local chiropractor for a quick alignment doesn’t take long and can have lasting positive effects.

Hoola Monsters

Remember when you were little and tried hoola hooping for the first time? Entrepreneur Abby Albaum takes adult hooping to a new level with custom-made hoops made specifically for your body type and level of experience.

“Just one hour of hooping can burn over 400 calories,” says Albaum. All it takes is one swing around the hips and you’ll be hooked! Employees (and their kids!) were encouraged to try a class for free or customize their very own hoop.

The Fit Yard

Fit Yard trainer Karina Gardano doesn’t mess around when it comes to fitness. A full-time trainer and bikini model competitor – who drinks two gallons of water a day – teaches everything from indoor cycling to yoga. Luckily for Clarifire, we share a parking lot with this local gym. That means no excuses not to join, right?

Soho Juice Company

This is truly an organic, healthy obsession – just ask Stan, our VP of IT, who ordered several juices after trying a few samples. Between their flavorful cold-pressed juices and freshly made acai bowls, it’s hard to decide on just one product! All ingredients are pressed locally (with only two locations in the Tampa Bay area) and promote a healthy, delicious lifestyle.

Elevate St. Pete

Crossfit fans, rejoice! These fitness gurus came armed with special machinery to test body fat and body mass indexes. Employees were informed of class schedules, programs and the many benefits of being involved in a fitness regimen.

By bringing the organizations that promote healthy lifestyles into the office, employees receive information first-hand from the vendors and are in encouraged to partake in these activities.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
